Random Atheist Question #9

How do Christians know their god is the real one?

Of all the millions of gods ever worshiped, how is Yahweh known to be the right one?

  1. I can’t resist. How? I think I know, but I am also curious.

  2. 1. On a scale of one-to-ten, my God rates #10.
    2. Anyone can be a Christian. But, not all can be Jewish. (They can practice Judaism but still they are gentile)
    3. My God offers a way out of the misery of this world.
    4. My God became human to experience our suffering first hand.
    5. Of all religions, My God & His Bible presents the best case.

But don’t stop there. Read for yourself: Who is God? He’s been described as everything from an impersonal life-force to a benevolent, personal, almighty Creator. He has been called by many names, including: “Zeus,” “Jupiter,” “Brahma,” “Allah,” “Ra,” “Odin,” “Ashur,” “Izanagi,” “Viracocha,” “Ahura Mazda,” and “the Great Spirit” to name just a few. He’s seen by some as “Mother Nature” and by others as “Father God.” But who is He really? Who does He claim to be?

Of course all of your reasons are personal opinion, non-exclusive to Christianity, and/or unprovable. 🙂

I guess that is the only way to answer the question…

You quote for that website does not fit Christianity very well. It sounds more like a deist statement.

  4. As simply put as possible: because we worship the only god. As Glen put it… he’s called by many names, but whatever that name is, we worship it. The more relevant question is: “How do Christians know they’re worshiping the only God the right way?”

…I guess if there exists multiple gods, they’re all fighting in the clouds over which one we’re facing when we pray. 😛

Deist? Yes…but would that not be the appropriate way to answer an Atheist?

Atheist are not just rebelling against Jesus, but any God or gods.

Nice choice of words… “rebelling”… Like you are rebelling against the Easter Bunny? Or do you believe in her too?

  7. Silly, mixed-up atheist…
Everyone knows the easter bunny is male…
